Kents Cavern - 'A Stone Age Site with Green Credentials'

Kents Cavern is the oldest recognisable human dwelling in Britain, with evidence of occupation dating back 450,000 years. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and was awarded Southwest England’s Large Tourist Attraction of the Year 2007.

The Cavern’s Estate Manager, Terry Williams, wanted to ensure they were moving with the times and an appropriate recycling scheme was in place for their retail and catering operations.

“TQ Recycling make it easy for us - they take plastic and cans co-mingled, so our staff simply put them in the bins provided. The collections are always on-time, and we are very pleased with the service”.

Simon Wishy of TQ Recycling comments , “Terry took me on a tour of the cave and it was fascinating. The Stone Age Inhabitants lived in balance with their environment – there is a sense of continuity with Kents Cavern making an effort to strike a balance with the environment too.”
