Q – What waste can you take away
for recycling?
A - TQ Recycling will take away –
Plastics, Aluminium and steel cans,
Cardboard, Paper, Mixed Glass
bottles and jars and WEEE (Waste
electrical Equipment. Further we
also shred confidential paper waste
and will also offer secure
destruction of PC hard drives under
the WEEE Directive.
Q – What happens to our waste
when it is taken away?
A - All waste is recycled. Paper is
baled at our location and then
transported for bulk delivery to a
paper mill in the Uk. Cardboard is
baled at our location and then
transported to a local mill for re
pulping into new cardboard. Glass is
collected in a mixed colour form and
then bulk transported up to Bristol
for re processing – colour
separating and re smelting into new
glass. Plastics and aluminium and
steel cans are taken to Plymouth
where they are sorted and processed
for onward delivery to a re
processing plant to be made into new
aluminium and steel cans and new
plastic products. Waste electrical
equipment goes to the re processors
working with DHL our WEEE Compliance
partner. Items are re used where
possible and if not then shredded
and separated into component metals
and plastics for onward recycling.
Q – Do you supply the bins or
bags we need?
A – Yes, TQ provides bins ranging
from 1100 litres to 360 litres volume
and we supply re usable recycling
sacs and cages where needed. The
bins are all rented and come
complete with bin logos depicting
the waste streams to be recycled and
the bags are purchased.
Q – How often do you collect?
A - Each business is different but
we do have established rounds in
areas. We collect from some clients
5 times per week due to a lack of
storage space but others are weekly.

Q – What can we do with old
computers and other waste electrical
items?
A – We are able to collect all types
of waste electricals. We will quote
for each individual collection.

component metals and plastics for
onward recycling.

Q – Why do we have to pay for an
Annual Duty of Care Notice?
A - The Environment Agency requires
all producers of waste to submit
either individual collection returns
or an annual Duty of Care notice
detailing the volumes etc of waste
carried over the period. We choose
to submit one annual form to reduce
paper produced and to save you
money. Some organisations charge a
monthly fee for this. We charge a
one off Annual fee of £45.00 plus
Vat. These records must be kept. |
